Dance Educators Training Institute (DETI) 2026 Dances of Resistance June 29–30, 2026 CCBC Center for the Arts 360 Campus Drive, Catonsville, MD 21228 Looking for new skills and tools? Join us for two immersive days of dance, conversation, self-care, and community at DETI 2026! This year’s institute explores Dances of Resistance, featuring: Brazilian Capoeira Movement Brazilian Frevo Brazilian Samba Irish Dance Somatic Movement DETI goes beyond dance technique. Participants will engage in: * Culturally responsive teaching practices * Movement rooted in history, ritual, and resistance * Mindfulness and wellness practices * Embodied self-care * Active, hands-on dance experiences (you’ll be moving!) ✨ NEW for 2026 Educators can earn 1 CPD/MSDE credit by attending both days of the program. BCPS will support participants through the credit process. For credit questions: dpilate@bcps.org Registration Options Two-day and single-day passes available. Who Should Attend Educators, administrators, movement enthusiasts, and anyone interested in embodied learning and community connection. (18+ No Dance Experience Required) Work-study and funding options are available—we don’t want anyone turned away due to financial barriers.
