Did you know Columbia is home to a vibrant 1.6-acre wildflower meadow? The Hopewell Park Meadow project began in winter of 2022 and was created to support pollinator habitat and regenerate biodiversity. Thousands of living organisms call this urban pollinator meadow home, from native wildflowers to bumblebees, butterflies, dragonflies, moths, and countless other critters.
During the height of pollinator season, join us at Hopewell Park Meadow to discover, identify, and celebrate our incredible pollinators! Participate in a community BioBlitz and guided meadow walks, learn about pollinators at informative stations, and meet members of local environmental groups and see how you can get involved.
Enjoy free plant and seed giveaways to help you support pollinators at home and treat yourself to some ice cream while you're here! Whether you're a seasoned naturalist or just curious about the buzzing world around you, this is a perfect opportunity to explore, learn, and celebrate the incredible biodiversity in our own backyard.
